Viewer Quick Start
As a viewer, Pokes lets you interact with creators you are connected to: or through control links they share. You can send pokes within your daily allowance, redeem timed toy-control sessions, sync your own Lovense toys to receive pokes, and see when creators are online. During a control-link session, you control the creator's toys for a fixed duration, within intensity limits they set: not their account settings.
This guide covers the fastest path from a new account to your first successful interaction.
Creators set poke limits, cooldowns, and session caps. If a poke fails or a link will not redeem, check your remaining allowance and the creator's online status before trying again.
What you need
- A Pokes account at pokes.love: or just a control-link URL for guest redemption (account optional).
- An accepted connection with a creator, or a control link they shared.
- Optional: Lovense toys synced in Pokes if you want creators to poke you back.
- Google Chrome or Edge for the web dashboard; optional Chrome extension for a side panel while you browse.
Free accounts include real-time pokes with connections, control-link redemption, and a daily poke allowance. See Free for limits. Premium viewers can also create outgoing control links, but not creator streaming tools (overlays, pokesBot, commands).
Find a creator
You do not need a direct invite to get started.
- Open Connections (
/connections). - Use the search bar to look up creators by @handle (with or without the
@). - Send a connection request when you find the right profile.
- Wait for them to accept: or connect immediately if they have auto-accept enabled for new viewers.
You can also:
- Accept an invite if a creator requested you first (pending requests appear on the same page).
- Open a control link (
/redeem/{token}) from a DM, chat, or tip reward: no search required. - Visit a creator's public profile at
/{handle}to confirm you have the right account before connecting.
Finish onboarding (/onboarding) if prompted: username, email verification, and public @handle: before you can search for users or poke others. You can still poke yourself and redeem many guest links while setup is incomplete.
Steps
1. Create your viewer account
- Go to pokes.love/login?mode=signup.
- Under I'm signing up as, choose Viewer.
- Complete sign-up (email, Google, or other sign-in options shown on the form).
- Finish onboarding if the app redirects you there.
Already have an account? Sign in at pokes.love/login. Want to stream yourself later? You can Switch to Creator in Settings (/settings) when you are ready: creator tools stay hidden until then.
2. Connect with a creator
Pick one path:
| Path | What to do |
|---|---|
| Search | Connections → search @handle → send request → wait for accept (or instant if auto-accept is on) |
| Incoming invite | Connections → accept a pending request from a creator |
| Control link only | Open /redeem/{token} from the creator: works logged in or as a guest |
Accepted connections show on Connections. A read-only list also lives at My connections (/me/connections).
See Connections for roles, poke permissions, and pending-request behavior.
3. Open the dashboard or extension
- Web dashboard: pokes.love/dashboard shows system status: toys, pokes remaining, connections, and control-link inbox.
- Extension side panel: optional quick access to pokes, connections, and link redemption while browsing. See Extension side panel.
The web dashboard is enough for your first session; add the extension when you want faster access during streams.
4. Check connection and toy status
On Dashboard (/dashboard) or Connections (/connections):
- Confirm the creator shows as accepted (not pending).
- Check whether their toys appear online if you plan to poke them or redeem a link that controls their devices.
On Toys (/toys):
- Sync your Lovense toys if you want to receive pokes or patterns from creators.
- Stay online in Lovense Remote or Connect so creators see you as available.
Creators control whether they share toy online status with connections via privacy settings.
5. Send pokes
- Open Pokes (
/pokes). - Choose a connected creator from the target picker (or 💗 Myself to test your own toy).
- Pick intensity and duration, then send.
Your pokes remaining today counter is on the Pokes page. Limits come from your plan and the creator's role settings for your connection. If you are out of pokes, wait for the daily reset or ask the creator about your role tier.
See Send a poke for presets, patterns, and group pokes where your plan allows.
6. Redeem control links
Control links grant timed control of a creator's toys. There are two common types:
Assigned links (connected creators)
- Open Control links (
/control-links). - Under Control links assigned to you, find the link.
- Redeem when you are ready: the session timer starts when control begins.
Guest links (URL in DM or chat)
- Open
/redeem/{token}in any browser. - Review duration and creator name, then click Redeem Now.
- No account required; signing up lets you save settings and sync your own toys.
During an active session you get a live control panel (vibe, intensity within caps, optional mini-games like Fappy Bird). Time remaining counts down automatically. Use End session or Pause when shown. If another person is already controlling the toy, you may enter a queue until the slot opens.
See Redeem a control link for queue behavior and guest vs logged-in flows.
7. Respect limits and session rules
- Do not spam pokes when you hit daily limits: check the counter on Pokes.
- Do not share private
/redeem/{token}URLs; treat them like passwords. - End control-link sessions when finished so the next person in queue can play.
- Follow the creator's platform rules (Fansly chat, tips, etc.). Pokes only mediates toy actions they allow.
See Limits and Safety for caps, cooldowns, and what creators can revoke.
Optional: Premium viewer features
Upgrade at Billing (/billing) if you want:
- Higher daily poke limits and max intensity
- Create outgoing control links (manage at
/control-links)
Premium does not unlock creator streaming tools: overlays, pokesBot, commands, and tip rules remain creator-only. To stream yourself, switch to Creator in Settings.
How to test
Use this checklist after connecting:
- Connection accepted: creator appears as connected on Connections, not pending.
- Small poke: send one low-intensity poke on Pokes; confirm success or a clear limit message.
- Receive poke (optional): with your toy synced and online, ask the creator for a short test poke to you.
- Assigned link: redeem from Control links while signed in; confirm timer and controls.
- Guest link: open
/redeem/{token}in a private window; confirm redeem works logged out. - Queue (if applicable): if the toy is busy, confirm the wait screen updates automatically.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Cannot search or poke others | Finish onboarding (/onboarding) |
| Connection still pending | Wait for creator accept, or ask if they use auto-accept for new viewers |
| Cannot send pokes | See Pokes Failing and Limits and Safety: check daily limit and connection poke permission |
| Creator toys offline | They need Lovense connected in Pokes; try again when their toy shows online |
| Control link will not redeem | Creator toy offline, link expired, already used, or another session active: see Control Link Troubleshooting |
| Stuck in queue | Wait for the active session to end; page auto-refreshes when you can start |
| Wrong account | Sign out and back in: Sign-In Problems |
| Missing overlay / pokesBot in sidebar | Normal for Viewer accounts; those are creator tools |
| Extension not available | Use the web dashboard for all viewer actions |
